Terms of Service
Last updated: August 16, 2026
These Terms of Service are the agreement between you and CareerHandoff for use of our website and job-search assistance service. By accessing the site, starting a trial, or paying for the service, you agree to these terms.
The business
These terms are offered by:
CareerHandoff51 Maher Ave
Toronto, ON M6P 1S8
Canada
Questions about billing, cancellation, or these terms may be sent by mail to that address, or by replying to the Stripe receipt for your purchase.
The service
CareerHandoff provides a dedicated job-search assistant who helps find roles matched to your preferences, tailor application materials, and submit applications on your behalf. We use real people. We do not use an auto-apply bot.
Unless we agree otherwise in writing, the plan includes up to 100 targeted applications per month. Volume can vary based on the preferences you give us, the market, and complete information from you.
We do not guarantee interviews, offers, or a job. Hiring decisions belong to employers.
Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. You must provide accurate information and have the legal right to work in the locations you ask us to target, unless you clearly tell us otherwise.
Trial, billing, and renewal
New customers may start a 7-day free trial. A valid payment method is required to begin. You will not be charged during the trial if you cancel before it ends.
After the trial, the subscription is $299 USD per month (or the currency shown at checkout), billed in advance through Stripe. The subscription renews automatically each month until you cancel.
Prices, taxes, and the amount due today are shown at checkout. Stripe processes payments. Stripe’s terms and privacy policy also apply to checkout.
Cancellation and refunds
You may cancel at any time. Cancel before the trial ends and you will not be charged. Cancel after a paid period starts and you keep access through the end of the then-current billing period. You will not be billed again.
Unless required by law, subscription fees are non-refundable and we do not prorate unused time in a billing period. If a charge was made in error, contact us promptly and we will review it.
To cancel, use the customer portal or cancellation instructions in your Stripe receipt, or write to us at the address above before the next billing date.
Nothing in these terms limits rights you may have under applicable consumer-protection law, including in Ontario.
Your authorization
By using the service, you authorize CareerHandoff and its team to:
- review your resume, preferences, and other materials you provide;
- search for roles and submit applications, including creating accounts on job boards or employer sites where needed to apply;
- answer application questions using information you have given us, and using reasonable professional judgment where a form requires additional detail;
- contact you about applications, interviews, billing, and service issues.
You confirm that the materials you provide are accurate, that you own them or have the right to use them, and that authorizing us to apply will not violate any agreement you have with a current employer or third party.
Your responsibilities
You agree to:
- provide complete, current information we need to apply (including timely answers to follow-up questions);
- keep login credentials we share with you secure, if any;
- review applications and interview requests and handle interviews yourself;
- tell us promptly if you accept a role, pause your search, or need us to stop applying;
- use the service only for your own legitimate job search.
We may pause or limit applications if information is missing, inconsistent, or appears inaccurate.
Acceptable use
You may not:
- provide false identity, work history, or work-authorization information;
- use the service for anyone other than yourself without our consent;
- misuse, copy, or scrape the website;
- interfere with the service or attempt unauthorized access;
- use the service for any unlawful purpose.
Intellectual property
The CareerHandoff name, logo, website, and original content are owned by us or our licensors. You keep ownership of your resume and other materials you provide. You grant us a limited license to use those materials solely to perform the service.
Third-party services
Checkout is handled by Stripe. Advertising measurement may be handled by Meta and other partners. Employer sites and job boards are independent. We are not responsible for third-party sites, their availability, or their hiring processes.
Disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that applications will be received, reviewed, or successful.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, CareerHandoff and its team will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost opportunities, or loss of data. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the amounts you paid us in the three months before the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations. In those places, our liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.
Indemnity
You will defend and indemnify CareerHandoff against claims arising from your materials, your instructions, your breach of these terms, or applications submitted based on information you provided, except to the extent caused by our willful misconduct.
Suspension and termination
We may suspend or end the service if you breach these terms, if payment fails, or if we reasonably believe continued service would create legal, security, or reputational risk. You may stop using the service and cancel as described above. Sections that should survive (including payment amounts already due, intellectual property, disclaimers, liability limits, and governing law) will survive.
Privacy
Our collection and use of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy, which is part of these terms.
Changes
We may update these terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Material changes will apply going forward. If you do not agree, cancel before the next billing date and stop using the service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Toronto, Ontario will have exclusive jurisdiction, except that either party may seek injunctive relief in any court of competent jurisdiction.
